Brugge - The PAND Hotel
Bruges’ ancient quiet city centre, devoid of heavy traffic, is like an open air museum. The many gothic churches and ancient guild houses are interspersed with medieval narrow streets and quaint small houses. Small wonder UNESCO listed Bruges city centre on its World Heritage List. Close to the Bruges Reien district, you will find The PAND Hotel. It is situated in an 18th century building tucked away behind beautiful plane trees. Proprietress Chris Vanhaecke has travelled extensively and stayed in the most excellent hotels. Her experiences helped her fulfil her wish to own her own hotel. Her art and antique collection contribute to make this Boutique Hotel very special.
The 26 guestrooms are individually styled. For instance, Room 107 is decorated with a period Guinever flower pattern and room 106 is in a Scottish style, including four poster bed, chandelier, tartan plaids, antlers and coats of arms. The 9 suites are furnished with Ralph Lauren wallpaper and fabrics. The stylish bathrooms are fitted with English taps with porcelain caps. The hair dryers are high quality chrome. Each suite has a Jacuzzi.
The elegant lounges have wooden floors and ceiling beams. Paintings adorn the walls, and objets d’art are displayed, tastefully combined with burning candles. The sofas with colourful plaids are very inviting. The library holds many interesting books. The cosy bar is furnished with Chesterfield chairs. Throughout the hotel antique mannequins and Louis Vuitton travel bags, collected by Chris Vanhaecke, can be found.
