Country palace in the hills of Mecklenburg

A 180-hectare estate, an English landscaped park with three lakes and horseback riding trails with natural jumps: this is the backdrop of  ‘Country Estate’ Burg Schlitz. Add to this Armin and Manuela Hoeck’s warm hospitality, who expertly run this charming Country Manor, and you are guaranteed a wonderful stay in the hills of Mecklenburg.

The castle dates back to 1823. Befitting a genuine castle, the rooms and suites have been elegantly furnished with tailored furniture from the well-known German Werkstätten Hellerau. Sumptuously dining takes place in the Neo-gothic ‘Crest Hall’, as well as in Brasserie Louise, where, in addition to breakfast, the most wonderful dishes are served.

Just as the Spa will seem paradise to you, the 24 horse stables will feel the same for your trusty steed. You can also a hire a horse. The Hoeck family will gladly organise your trip with horse and cart including a richly filled picnic basket. The Baltic Sea can be reached within 45 minutes and both Berlin and Hamburg are only a 1.5-hour drive away.
