Surrounded by the rolling landscape of Limburg, Restaurant De Leuf tells a culinary story on a theme of family tradition. Hostess Sandra van de Bunt and her daughter Michelle welcome you to an atmospheric interplay with contemporary cuisine.
Talented son Robin and sous-chef Thijs run a boldly innovative kitchen, preparing creations not only using the finest ingredients, but also inspired by their culinary travels around the world. Combined with wines expertly selected by sommelier Bas Rietrae, this produces a gastronomic experience that exceeds every expectation.
The distinctive hotel rooms are modern and light, but with their low, beamed ceilings, they retain authentic style. The area is perfect for walking, cycling (for the more advanced cyclist) or picnicking.
Belgium and Germany are just a short drive away, or you can take a trip the Carolus Thermen thermal bath, the SnowWorld ski centre, or Holland Casino Valkenburg.
The menu is French-traditional. The chef’s motto is: to innovate every day and to perfect what was realized the day before. The restaurant’s interior is modern but in harmony with the old farmhouse’s century old features.
The restaurant is opened Tuesday through Saturday.
The hotel a front garden. The terrace in the walled in courtyard seats 28 persons. The tablecloths are linnen and big parasols provide shade as do the plane-trees. On warm summer days lunch and dinner are served here.
In the cooking studio you can participate in cooking demonstrations, workshops and various wine-food and themed taste tests. Cookery classes for groups and picnic baskets on request. Many footpaths in the neighbourhood.
De Leuf Hotel lies in the middle of the hilly Limburg landscape which in itself is enticing for long walks or bicycle trips (for the more experienced cyclist).
