Grand Hotel De Draak

Bergen op Zoom, North Brabant, Netherlands

The oldest document mentioning Herberg De Draak – now Grand Hotel De Draak – dates from 1397. It proves that this is the oldest hotel in the Netherlands. Over the centuries, the hotel has lost nothing of its quality, although what was once a smoke-filled room with a smouldering fire is now a contemporary restaurant called Hemingway – named after the adventurous author and gourmand Ernest Hemingway.
