QL is famous for its unique collection of small hotels and restaurants, but QL is also well-known for organising the QL Glenmorangie Champions Trophy, the championship of all club champions strokeplay in the Netherlands.
On Saturday october 12, the famous Eindhovensche Golf, founded by the industrial Philips family, was the stage of this important golf tournament. 72 top golf players were competing to win the Silver Robbe & Berking plates, bottles of Glenmorangie Whisky and stays (overnight, dinner and greenfees) at the QL Hotels Royal Mougins and Domaine La Butte aux Bois. Other prices were jewelry of Bron Fine Dutch Jewelry, duvets and cushions by Royal Auping, bed linen of Kepri, bags and shirts of Lacoste, subscriptions to magazines Quote and Harpers Bazaar, the best wines of Prinz Salm Weinen, golf socks of Stox, magnums Portillo of Salentein, etc.
The day started with the best cakes of royal supplier Holtkamp Horeca, soft drinks of Russell & Co and Sourcy. During the competition a lunch box was arranged by Hanos International. The 19th hole (the Club house) was the place to be after the competition with a cocktail bar of Glenmorangie, wines of Salentein and the famous Affligem Blond Beer.
The winners are mrs. Caroline Karsten (U.G.C. De Pan, gross 77) and mr. Jordy Kuijsters (Golfclub De Merwelanden, gross 75). With thanks to the Eindhovensche Golf, Dorien Klaus, Theo den Tex (NGF Referees), Tjamko Bootsma and of course the unique competition manager Arthur Roskott.
