Iconic Hotel De Wereld reopens

Hotel De Wereld is one of the most iconic hotels in the Netherlands. Not only for its monumental status, but best known for its place in history. The German capitulation in 1945 was signed in Hotel De Wereld and has played a major role in the history of the Netherlands. For this reason a visit to this hotel feels like a journey through an important chapter of Dutch history.

Monument of peace and hospitality
However, the history of the hotel dates as far back as 1669. The inn ‘De Wearelt’ first emerged as a stopover for stage coaches and travellers on horseback, and went on to become a stop for steam trams. Hotel De Wereld has its own exclusive restaurant, O Mundo, where Chef Jonathan Veldhuizen offers an excellent menu of international cuisine.

Family affair
25 year old Wiebe de Vries, son of Lammert and Sjoukje de Vries of QL's Landgoed Groot Warnsborn, will be in charge of Hotel De Wereld.
