QL welcomes back an old friend. Hotel De Wereld (Wageningen, the Netherlands) is one of the most well-known hotels in the Netherlands and as of recently run by Wiebe de Vries, son of Sjoukje and Lammert de Vries of QL Hotel Landgoed Groot Warnsborn (Arnhem, the Netherlands).
Hotel De Wereld in Wageningen, famous for the German capitulation in 1945, has played a major role in the history of the Netherlands. For this reason a visit to this hotel feels like a journey through an important chapter of Dutch history. However, the history of the hotel dates right back to 1669, when the inn ‘De Wearelt’ emerged as a stopping-place for travellers and stage coaches and a stop for horses and steam trams.
